  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. KDSG receives preliminary reports on kidnapping of about 10 students in Kachia LGA 

The Kaduna State Government has received preliminary reports from security agencies on the kidnapping of about 10 students in Kachia LGA. 

According to the preliminary reports, the students of Government Secondary School, Awon (a day secondary school) were kidnapped on Monday. 

The exact location of the incident is yet to be ascertained but detailed reports being awaited will clarify whether the incident occurred within the school premises or elsewhere. 

The Government will issue a public statement accordingly, when these reports are received.
