  President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administration’s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeria’s creative sector as a driving force for global influence. The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja. President Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said the carnival reaffirms the essence of who Nigerians are—”a people of culture, a people of art, a people of colour, and a people of shared values”. Kidnappers Release 74 Persons In Zamfara

In Zamfara State, 74 abducted from Wanzamai village in Tsafe Local Government Area of State have regained their freedom after payment of six million naira as ransom to the abductors.

A resident of the village who disclosed that the abductors have released 74 while two were killed, the remaining kidnapped victims are still in captivity.

The 74 victims were brought into the village in vehicles straight to a private hospital for medical screening.

They were said to have been abducted in the affected villages of Wanzamai, Gidan Cida and Kuceri but one of the victims later escaped.

The abductors demanded more money before they would release the remaining twenty persons still in captivity.

The 74 who regained their freedom are weak, highly traumatized, and need urgent medical attention to be able to get back on their feet.

On Friday, 7th April, 2023 suspected terrorists invaded Wanzamai, Kucheri, Gidan Chida villages and abducted 96 women and children to an unknown destination demanding N3million ransom for their release.
