 MODEL COLLEGES/UPGRADED JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS COMMENCE E-REGISTRATION FOR YEAR 2025 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION The Lagos State Government has commenced Year 2025 e-Registraton Entrance Examination (Screening Test) for primary 6 pupils transiting to junior secondary schools into its Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools.  The Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu confirmed that the e-Registration will commence on Thursday 6th February and ends on Friday, 16th May, 2025, adding that the Screening will be conducted through Computer Based Test (CBT) only between Wednesday, 28th May and Friday, 30th May, 2025, at the various CBT designated centres across the State. Mr. Orunsolu stressed that qualified pupils from public and private Schools are to pay a sum of #10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) for the Application.  Man Hacks Girlfriend to Death in Kaduna



Kaduna State Police Command has arrested a man who allegedly murdered his girlfriend. 


 Spokesperson of the command, DSP Muhammad Jalige, who confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Friday, April 21, 2023, said the suspect was rescued as he was about being lynched by a mob.


Jalige said on April 14 that at about 21:30hrs, the Command received a distress call that there was a mob action at NEPA Roundabout in Kaduna metropolis where an unruly crowd were about to lynch a man.


Operatives were immediately mobilised to the scene.


“On getting there they met the suspect lying unconscious and surrounded by a crowd,” he said. 


According to Jalige, information gathered revealed that the suspect attacked his girlfriend of Old Command Secondary and Nursery School, Sokoto Road, Kaduna with a machete and inflicted multiple degrees of injury on her face, arms and hands.

 

He explained that during the attack the man severed her left hand completely, alleging that he had spent a lot of resources on her and she wanted to dump him for another man. 


The victim was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, for treatment where a doctor on duty confirmed she was dead.


 “The corpse of the lady has been deposited at the same hospital, for an autopsy,” Jalige said. 

The PPRO said investigation was ongoing.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha.
