 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment. Preparatory to handover come May 29th, 2023, Benue State Governor-elect, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has released names of his Transition Committee.

The committee has former Head of Service Chief Mike Iordye as chairman while Dan Ashiekaa is to serve as secretary.

Members include Prof. John Enyi, Prof. Steven Ugbah, Chief Hinga Biem, Dr. Moses Tule, Arch Samuel Agule, Hon. Paul Biam, Barr. Moses Atagher, Hon. Emmanuel Atser, Dr. Emmanuel Chenge, Mr. Humbe Mkena, Dr. Christopher Obute, Prof. Christie Ekoja, Hon. Philip Kwaghsor and Lady Helen Atom.

Others are Barr. Bemsen Mnyim, Mrs. Nana Mede, Hon. Nick Wende, Dr. Timothy Aikyor, Hon. Nick Eworo, Lady Susan Achiaga, Rt. Hon. Dorothy Mato, Dr. Patrick Onumah, AVM Monday Morgan, Hon. Solomon Wombo, Hon. Dan Onje, Barr. Patricia Kupchi and Rev. Pst Philip Tachin.

In a statement signed by his Director of Communications, Kula Tersoo, Alia said the Committee has a mandate to collaborate with the outgoing government’s Transition Committee to ensure a seamless handover of power.
