Water Crisis Deepens in Nasarawa Eggon as Residents Resort to Unsafe Sources Residents of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area in Nasarawa State are grappling with severe water scarcity, resorting to stagnant ponds and muddy pools for their daily needs due to the collapse of public water infrastructure. Communities now rely on contaminated water for drinking, cooking, and bathing, raising serious health concerns. Locals described the water as foul-smelling and visibly dirty, but said they have no alternatives. “We’ve not had tap water in over two months,” said Adefu Ruth, a resident of Angwan Kuje. “We’re forced to use this dirty water.” Despite the presence of elected officials and the Commissioner for Water Resources—an indigene of the area—residents say there has been no visible intervention. PDP Consoles Former Governor Emeka Ihedioha on Mother’s Death

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family commiserates with the former Governor of Imo State and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON, on the death of his mother and Matriarch of the Ihedioha Family, Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha.

Dame Nsonma Ihedioha was a graceful, peaceful, friendly, cheerful and exceptionally kind lady; a very affectionate mother, devout Christian and inspiring personality who deeply cared for the wellbeing and happiness of others and lived as an epitome of humility, hard work, faith, love for God and service to humanity.

As a Party, we draw solace from the fact that Mama lived a fulfilled life of God’s abundant grace in good health and left resounding legacies including bequeathing to our great Party, the PDP and our dear Nation Nigeria a statesman in Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.

The PDP believes that Rt, Hon. Ihedioha’s commitment to duty towards the stability and growth of our Party, the development of Imo State and the Nation at large stems from the virtues imparted in him by his mother.

The PDP family stands with Rt. Hon. Ihedioha, the Ihedioha family and the people of Imo State at this moment and prays to the Almighty God to comfort them and grant Mama eternal rest in His Bosom.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
