 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly. Plateau: Abductors of paramount ruler demands N18m

The abductors of the kidnapped paramount ruler of Mhiship Nation in Pankshin Local Council of Plateau State, on Wednesday night, His Royal Highness Sunday Dajep, had contacted the monarch’s family.

The abductors, who had not communicated with the family since that day, broke the silence, yesterday, demanding N18m from them for the victim to be released.

This was disclosed by the family, while speaking with The Guardian.

The family’s spokesman, who preferred to remain anonymous, said they had a family meeting on what they could afford, preparing for the kidnappers’ call again.

Family source told journalists earlier that gunshots were heard at the palace around 11.pm where he was abducted.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the incident.

He said investigation into the unfortunate incident was ongoing to ensure that the “traditional ruler is rescued unhurt and the culprits arrested and prosecuted according to the law of the land.”

Then, there has been no communication between the abductors and the family pertaining to ransom.
