TWO FEARED DEAD AS RIVAL CULT GROUPS CLASH IN RIVERS COMMUNITY

Reports say a cult clash in Elibrada community in Emohua local government area of Rivers State, has left two persons dead.

Our correspondent gathered that the cult clash was between the Debam and Iceland cult groups.

It was also gathered that members of the Debam cult group entered the community at the early hours of Thursday April 27,2023 in search of the leader of the Iceland cult group Nwodi Onuigwe a.k.A Wodi who has been terrorizing the Emohua section of the East West road, which resulted to a shootout between members of the two rival cult groups in the community.

According to the report, the second in command to Mr Wodi the leader of the Iceland cult group, Junior Onukube a.k.a kpaikpai was killed alongside another member of the group.

It was also gathered that Mr. Charles Amadi was shot dead by Wodi and his men who were dressed in a uniform that looked like that of the Civil Defense for allegedly giving information of their activities to members of the Debam cult group.

It was also learnt that members of the Emohua vigilante Service EMOVIS and other security agencies moved into the community to quell the situation.

However there is a Facebook post of the picture of Charles Amadi alleging that he was killed by members of EMOVIS in the Elibrada community but when contacted the acting commander of EMOVIS, Chi Agi denied the allegation.

Meanwhile normalcy has returned to the community following the presence of security personnel in the community, although some residents had already fled the community during the gun battle.

The Rivers state Police command has not reacted to the incident.
