 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour. Unijos Confers Doctorate Degree Of Law On Emir Of Zazzau 

The Senate and Governing Council of the University of Jos has approved the award of Honourary Doctorate Degree of Laws, Honoris Causa to its Chancellor the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR. 

According to the Letter of Award presented by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ishaya Tanko while leading Management team of the University to his Palace, indicates that the award will be made after the Emir's investiture as Chancellor of the University at the 33rd/34th Convocation Ceremony slated for May, 2023.

Professor Tanko also disclosed that the Senate and Governing Council of the University deem it fit to award Malam Ahmad Bamalli with the Honorary Degree after carefully studying his profile, experience, dynamism, integrity and identifying with his wide range network. 

In a Statement, Media and Publicity Officer of the Zazzau Emirate Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai recalls that the Emir is also the Chancellor of Capital City University, Kano and Greenfield University, Kaduna.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
