 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. Voting Disrupted In Rivers Polling Unit, INEC Officials ‘Flee’ With Result Sheet, BVAS, Others

Saturday’s supplementary polls were disrupted at Ward 4, Polling Unit 5 of Sogho in the Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.


It was gathered that the disruption followed a disagreement between the party agents of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


According to reports obtained by newsmen, the voting process was going on smoothly until the disagreement occurred.


However, in the heat of the disagreement, the ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) abruptly left the scene and took with them the result sheets, BVAS machines, ballot boxes, and ballot papers.


In their haste, they, however, left the voting cubicle behind.


One of the voters who was quoted in a report by Channels Television alleged that the votes were neither counted nor the result sheets signed before the INEC officials left.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
