 South Africa says US misrepresented its policies after visa curbs South Africa's foreign ministry said on Wednesday that it ‌had noted with concern U.S. visa restrictions on some people from South Africa announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio a day earlier. The foreign ministry added in a statement that ⁠the U.S. announcement aligned with "the mischaracterisation of South Africa's domestic policies by fringe groups". "We maintain that challenges in our bilateral relations with the USA can only be resolved by constructive engagement through state actors on both sides of the diplomatic channel not unilateral acts," the statement said, Reuters reported. Trump has repeatedly criticized ‌South ⁠Africa since the start of his second term for what he falsely claims is the racial persecution of its white minority, citing affirmative action laws aimed at ⁠addressing the inequality that has persisted since apartheid. 10 Yahoo Boys Jailed in Enugu for Impersonation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Enugu Zonal Command, today May 9, 2023 secured the conviction of 10 internet fraudsters before Justice F. Riman of the Federal High Court sitting at Awka, Anambra State. 

The fraudster: Chisom Simon Ikenyiri, Ugwuanyi Innocent,  Ifeanyichukwu Nnaji Christian, Matthew Izuchukwu Ofoha, Chimamkpa Godwill Osakwe, Uwandu Bright, Uchechukwu Franklin Nwaodu, Emmanuel Aniweke Mmesoma,  Edeh Kelechukwu bethel  and Onu Chinedu Joshua, were convicted on separate charges bordering on bordering on fraudulent impersonation

All ten defendants pleaded guilty when the charges were read to them.

Justice Riman convicted and sentenced them to a one year imprisonment each.
