 PDP, Ighodalo’s appeal will crash, Okpebholo assures Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo (middle, backing the camera), while addressing the tumultuous crowd of supporters at his victory rally in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area in Edo Central Senatorial District of the state. Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo has declared the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, would crash at the Court of Appeal. Okpebholo spoke at Okaijesan Town Hall, Irrua, venue of the celebration of his Wednesday’s victory at the election petitions tribunal in Abuja, which Ighodalo and PDP vowed to appeal with the well-attended and colourful rally hosted by Edo Central senatorial district’s leaders. He expressed gratitude to Edo residents for their massive support and prayers, while assuring them that his administration would continue with the current pace of developmental strides. Update: 4th Batch Of Nigerians Arrive From Sudan

The Fourth batch of evacuees from the conflict-ridden Sudan, have arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The 410 evacuees arrived at the airport on board a Max Airline from Egypt.

They were received by government officials at General Aviation Terminal of the airport.

According to the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Humanitarian, Disaster management and Social Development, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo 732 people are expected to come in today.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
