OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. 8YEARS OLD GIRL RESCUED BY POLICE IN ANAMBRA AFTER NEIGHBOURS SAW BRUISES ALL OVER HER BODY.(PHOTOS).#PRESS RELEASE.




Police Operatives collaborating with the Staff of Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare on 12/5/2023 by 5:45 pm at Nkpor by King of Glory road, rescued a girl of 8years old, miss Idimmachikwu and arrested Mrs Chinyere Ifesinachi 25yrs from Alor Idemili South LGA Anambra. The arrest is following a trending video/public outcry of the residents of the area seen Miss Idimmachikwu with different degrees of injuries all over her body allegedly perpetuated by her guardian Mrs Ifesinachi. The child is currently receiving treatment in a hospital. 


Meanwhile, the case has since been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department SCID, for comprehensive investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Police *CP Echeng Echeng*. 


The *CP* has frowned at such inhuman treatment subjected to some housemaids/ help by their guardians, assuring that the command will continue to do everything within his power to protect the vulnerable of such. The case shall be charged to court on the conclusion of the investigation and justice shall be served.
