 APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL PRESS STATEMENT ATIKU MUST EXPLAIN THE LEGAL AND FISCAL BASIS OF HIS PETROL SUBSIDY PROPOSAL At his press conference in Abuja on Friday, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar reiterated his proposed  “production subsidy” for locally refined petrol, which he said would reduce pump prices. He went further to ask President Bola Tinubu to slash the cost of diesel and petrol at the pump. That proposal raises important legal, fiscal and practical questions that he must answer. Section 205(1) of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 provides that unrestricted free-market conditions shall determine wholesale and retail prices of petroleum products. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, in a statement on Saturday, explained that it neither fixes pump prices nor issues administrative price templates, except where the statutory conditions for intervention are met. Apapa-led Labour Party faction calls for arrest of Peter Obi, agitators of interim government

As the leadership crisis rocking the Labour Party (LP) heightens, the Bashiru Lamidi Apapa-led faction of the party has declared that nothing can stop the inauguration of the President-elect, Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29th as the next President of Nigeria.

The LP faction also called on the Nigerian Military, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba and the DSS to immediately arrest anyone, including the presidential candidate of the LP, Peter agitating for an interim government.

The Lamidi Apapa faction further called that any other person moving and clamouring to stop the transition process and the inauguration of President-Elect, Bola Tinubu on May 29 2023 should be arrested and prosecuted no matter his or her status in the society.
