 COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE  The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action.  Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.  The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026. APGA Anambra West Elects New LG Chairman

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Anambra West Chapter has elected a new executive body to run its affairs to repositioning the party in the area.

The election, which was held on May 22, at Ajandu hall Umueze Anam, saw Mr. Romanus Egwuatu from Ezi-Anam ward emerging as the Local Government  Chairman, while Mr. Ikem Onyeka from Umueze Anam, ward II emerged as the Secretary.

Other principal officers include,  Mr. Emmanuel Anekwe from Umuoba-Abegbu ward as Youth leader, Mrs. Nneka Nwachigwe from Olumbanasa-Odeh ward as Woman leader, Engr. Fidelis Aduwoke from Umuenwelum ward as Vice Chairman.

Speaking after the Congress, Member representing Anambra West in the State House, Mr. Patrick Udoba said that the success of the exercise was an attestation of the people’s will, noting that for elections to be free and fair, the will of the people must prevail.

Mr. Udoba who hails from Umueze Anam, Anambra West LGA, commended the party for the peaceful atmosphere which led to the successful outcome of the Congress, and promised unflinching support to the new Executive. 

He described the new APGA LG chairman as a thorough party man, stressing the need for all to rally round the new executive to enable APGA to maintain its leading position in the area.

Mr. Udoba commended Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for the on-going construction of Mmiata Anam-Nzam Road, saying that when completed would enhance the smooth transportation of farm produce from Nzam and its environs to the urban cities.

He added  that Gov. Soludo has 99.9 percent interest in Anambra West, and has approved the rural electrification of the entire Anambra West LGA which installation would commerce soon, appealing to the people of the area to reciprocate the governor's gesture by working for his re-election for a continuous development of the local government and the state.

The Transition Committee Chairman of the area,  Mr. Felix Ikechi who witnessed the Congress thanked God for the peaceful conduct of the Congress, and pledged maximum support to the new APGA executive.

In his acceptance speech, the new APGA LG Chairman, Mr. Egwuatu thanked the party faithful for trusting his new team and pledged their total commitment to the party's aspirations.
He added that they are determined to work hard to ensure that the good works of the Gov. Soludo's administration was sustained and extended toward his re-election.

Other stakeholders who spoke commended the maturity that was displayed by the party faithful during the congress. (MOI).
