 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision.  Appeal Court Nullifies Order Sacking Alex Otti, Other LP Candidates

Court of Appeal Kano division has stayed and suspended the order granted by the federal high court in Kano, which nullified the election of the Labour Party in the 36 states due to the late submission of the list of candidates to INEC.


Governor elect of Abia State Alex Otti had filed to the appellate court as an interested party although he was not a party of the suit at the trial court.


A 3 member panel lead by Justice Mbaba granted the order pending the hearing and determination of the motion.


The court also ordered Mr Otti to sign an undertaken to pay the sum of N2million if the notice of appeal is not duly served at the federal high court..
