 Alleged N4.8bn Fraud:  Appeal Court Adjourns Ibeto’s Appeal Till Sept 16 A three-man panel of the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division,on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, adjourned till September 16, 2024, the hearing of the appeal filed by the Chairman of Ibeto Energy Development Company, Cletus Ibeto. The case, which was initially before Justice I.O. Ijelu of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, had suffered several adjournments due to the absence of the defendant to take his plea with respect to the 10-count charges preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. He was charged alongside his companies, Ibeto Energy Development Company and Odoh Holdings Ltd. Justice Ijelu had, on November 3, 2023 declared Ibeto wanted based on the application moved by counsel to the EFCC, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN. He had also issued a bench warrant for his arrest. However, when the case came up on January 29, 2024, the court informed all parties involved that the case file had been returned to

EFCC Arrests 45 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Ogun

Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 arrested forty-five (45) alleged internet fraudsters in Ogun State.

The cybercriminals were arrested in Ijebu-Ode area following intelligence on their alleged fraudulent internet-related activities.

The fraudsters are Ogundiya Alex Olusegun, Ogunnusi Oluwaseunfunmi Akorede, Idor Ndubuisi Samuel, Bakare Idowu Ayomide, Oduntan Durojaiye Oluwaseun, Nurudeen Olalekan Quam, Bakare Taiwo Adewale, Aiyeloja Ridwan Oluwatobi, Bakare Kehinde Ademola, Musa Saheed Oladipupo, Idor Uchenna Joseph, Akerele Ayobami Emmanuel, Olanrewaju Olaitan Adisa Quadri, Adebanjo Oluwafemi Samuel, Bashir Abdulrahaman Adedayo, Alaran Boluwatife, Lasisi Damilola Opeyemi, Fisayo Akinkunade Folarin, Ayomikun Taiwo Odude, Oladejo Oluwatobiloba Joseph, Kuku Akeem Olabanji, Jaiyesimi Matthew Oluwatimilehin, Odude Kehinde Ayomipo, Arode Opeyemi Amos, Lawal Moruf Omobowale, Abulele Endurance Ogbemudia and Olajide Fredrick Ogundiya.

Others are: Owolabi Imoleayo Sodiq, Samod Tijani Owolabi, Abulele Joshua Osas, Agbolade Mayowa Oluwafemi, Olusoga Ridwan Oluwatobi, Fetuga Olajide Abiodun, Agbolade Bukola, Odude Ayomide Micheal, Adesanya Olamilekan, Badaru Damilare Micheal, Bashir Sodiq Omobolaji, Akinyemi Opeyemi Paul, Ali Abdullahi Oluwaseyi, Adefolarin Olamilekan Sunday, Moshood Habeeb Mayowa, Bamidele Azeez Oluwaseun, John Chukebuka Daniel and Asekoni Tolulope Adedoyin.

Items recovered include sixteen (16) exotic cars, several mobile phones, laptops and hi watches, among others.

They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
