 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity. Eniola Badmus to chair Entertainment Committee of Tinubu’s inauguration


Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has been appointed the chairman of the Entertainment Committee for President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration.

Ahead of May 29, 2023, preparations are already in top gear for the president-elect’s swearing-in.

A trending list on the internet showed that the actress would be chairing the Entertainment Committee for Tinubu’s inauguration.

Members of the group include Saheed Balogun, Toyin Abraham, Seyi Law, Lawal Olalekan, aka Konga, and singer Chuddy K, among others from the entertainment industry.

Eniola Badmus, who is a strong supporter of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2023 election, had in February begun the distribution of the Aso ebi selected for the celebration and swearing-in ceremony.
