 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. Fayemi Declines EFCC Invitation, Gives Reason


The former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has declined an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, over an investigation involving money laundering.


DAILY POST sighted an invitation letter dated 12th May 2023, sent to Fayemi by the EFCC.


According to the letter, the Commission said it needed clarifications from Fayemi as part of the investigation.


The statement further disclosed that Fayemi’s scheduled interview with the EFCC would be held on 18th May 2023.


However, Fayemi who had acknowledged the receipt of the commission’s letter via his legal representatives claimed he would not be available for the interview on that particular day.


The former Minister of Solid Minerals stated that he would be engaged in the presentation and launching of two new books in honour of President Muhammadu Buhari.
