 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. Fayemi Declines EFCC Invitation, Gives Reason


The former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has declined an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, over an investigation involving money laundering.


DAILY POST sighted an invitation letter dated 12th May 2023, sent to Fayemi by the EFCC.


According to the letter, the Commission said it needed clarifications from Fayemi as part of the investigation.


The statement further disclosed that Fayemi’s scheduled interview with the EFCC would be held on 18th May 2023.


However, Fayemi who had acknowledged the receipt of the commission’s letter via his legal representatives claimed he would not be available for the interview on that particular day.


The former Minister of Solid Minerals stated that he would be engaged in the presentation and launching of two new books in honour of President Muhammadu Buhari.
