 France records first Ebola case in doctor returning from DR Congo France confirmed its first imported Ebola case after a humanitarian doctor returned from a mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Health Ministry said Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported. The patient, who had returned from an area where the virus is circulating in Congo, was immediately admitted to a specialised healthcare facility and is in stable condition, the ministry said in a statement. “All precautionary measures, including the patient's isolation, were taken upon his arrival in the country,” it added, saying the transfer to hospital was carried out under secure conditions to prevent any risk of contamination. French health authorities said a full epidemiological investigation is underway to identify people who may have been in contact with the patient. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CONFERS CON AWARD ON GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA 


His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma was yesterday bestowed with the National Honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The award which was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari is coming at the same period when the Rivers State Government conferred on the Governor its highest Award of Grand Service Star of Rivers State (GSSRS).

The news of the award was received with excitement by ndi Imo and it is in recognition of Governor Hope Uzodimma's immense contributions to national development and unity.

In a statement issued by the Imo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, the State views the award as a vindication of Governor Hope Uzodimma's tireless commitment to national cohesion and his patriotic zeal in the discharge of his duty.

Hon Emelumba said the people of the state were particularly appreciative of President Muhammadu Buhari's love for the Governor and the people of the state.
