 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. MAKINDE MAKES FRESH APPOINTMENT



Governor Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday, approved the appointment of Miss Ololade Ajibola as the Senior Special Assistant (Special Duties); Alhaji Akeem Azeez as Personal Assistant (1); Mr. Samson Adejumo as Personal Assistant (2) and Mr. Isah Kabir as Principal Secretary to the Governor.

Also, the Governor approved the appointment of Professor Olawale Olakulehin as Acting Chief Medical Director, LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso.

According to the statement, the appointment is with immediate effect.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.

The governor, while congratulating the new appointees, asked them to see their appointments as a further call to service and urged them to discharge their duties with absolute loyalty, dedication and diligence.
