 Bandits Abduct 13 FCT Villagers, Demand Over N900m Gunmen in the early hours of Monday abducted 13 residents of Piko community in Bwari Area Council of the FCT.  A resident of Shere, a neighbouring village, who craved for anonymity for security reason, told City & Crime Tuesday that among the victims is a pastor in the village and an assistant head teacher with the Local Education Authority (LEA) in Shere community. The bandits later called to demand over N900 million, among other demands to release the victims. The residents said the bandits arrived the community some minutes after 12 am and proceeded to a nearby herders’ helmet, from where they picked two herders and a pregnant woman.  “They later released the Fulani woman along with the head teacher, who is physically challenged, as well as one other person,” the source added. Gov Wike Appoints Ohna Awuse, as Chairman of Rivers Traditional Rulers Council 

Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Chief Nyesom Wike, has approved the reconstitution of the Rivers State Traditional rulers council with His Majesty, Ohna Sergeant Awuse, Paramount Ruler of Emohua Kingdom, as Chairman of Rivers State Traditional Rulers.

The State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, announced the appointment at the State Awards and Pre-Inauguration Dinner night held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Port Harcourt on Saturday.

Announcing His Majesty, Ohna Awuse, as the new Chairman of Rivers State Traditional Rulers, Governor Wike, said:

"By the powers vested on me as the Governor of Rivers State, I have graciously approved Ohna Sergeant Awuse as Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council."

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
