He said that he went to inspect the ongoing reconstruction of the old Government House Awka, designated to serve as the headquarters of the state's "Solution Innovation District (SID)", and, discovered to his shock when he got to the building housing his former office that only two blocks were what the "roofing sheets" of that his old office rested on throughout the more the over three years he stayed in the building as deputy governor.  Gunmen Raid Anambra Town Kill Many Burn Them Alive

Many killed and many burnt alive in Awgbu by Unknown Gunmen terrorising Orumba/Anaocha axis of Anambra State……

According to eyewitness, many were killed while many were burnt alive by unknown gunmen who attacked Eke Awgbu market square yesterday night being 18th May 2023.

In eyewitness account, unknown gunmen were accosted by Agulu local security guards for terrorising their environs and were caught in Awgbu where the angry mobs dealt with the unknown gun attackers in Eke Awgbu square.

Unknown to Awgbu community, another set of unknown gunmen returned at about 9pm yesterday 18th May 2023 to raze down the market burning people alive in their shops while also opening fire on individuals killing many and many sustained injuries without any repel from security forces.

This incident have thrown the community into darkness and mourning.
