 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting.  Kaduna Gov-elect Uba Sani Unveils Book Written On Governor Nasir El-Rufai


Kaduna State Governor-elect Uba Sani, Deputy Governor Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe today joined other eminent Nigerians to a public book presentation on Governor Nasir El-Rufai.


The book, “Putting People First: The El-Rufai Years”, was written by Emmanuel Ado.


Senator Uba Sani presented the book in an event that took place at Shehu Musa Yar’adua Hall, Murtala Square, Kaduna, today.


Dignitaries at the event include the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Kashim Imam, Rivers State Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, renowned business mogul Arthur Eze who served as the Chief Launcher.


Former Governor of Jigawa State Saminu Turaki, and former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation-Mohammed Adoke, also attended, among other great personalities.


The book, “Putting People First: The El-Rufai Years” is a compilation of published articles and interviews focusing on El-Rufai’s tenure as an appraisal of his core values, mission and policy statements that defined the El-Rufai year as Governor of Kaduna State.
