 SANWO-OLU CELEBRATES EX-FIRST LADY, ABIMBOLA FASHOLA AT 60   Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the former First Lady, Dame Abimbola Fashola, on her 60th birthday, describing her as an Amazon, a selfless giver and an experienced administrator.   He said Abimbola, wife of former Governor of Lagos State and ex-Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), who clocks 60 on Sunday, is beacon of hope, positive energy and development, which she deployed in great proportions towards her pet projects during her tenure as First Lady. Maku, Others In Attendance As ECWA Holds Mass Burial For Members Killed In Tattara Mada

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Saturday held mass burial for its members who were killed recently by gunmen suspected to be fulani herdsmen in Tattara Mada, Kokona LGA of Nasarawa State. 

A total of seven members of the Church were gruesomely murdered in cold blood between Sunday April 16 and Monday April 17, 2023 when the yet-to-be arrested assailants invaded the community. 

The deceased victims are Allahnana Danjuma, Renkle Moses, Iliya Tsebe, Nchekpu Chero, Friday Ahock, Bitrus Zaria and Philip Wanaso who left behind wives, twenty children and many relations. 

In attendance during the funeral programme were clergymen, family members, kinsmen and other mourners notably a former Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
