 The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday. Maku, Others In Attendance As ECWA Holds Mass Burial For Members Killed In Tattara Mada

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Saturday held mass burial for its members who were killed recently by gunmen suspected to be fulani herdsmen in Tattara Mada, Kokona LGA of Nasarawa State. 

A total of seven members of the Church were gruesomely murdered in cold blood between Sunday April 16 and Monday April 17, 2023 when the yet-to-be arrested assailants invaded the community. 

The deceased victims are Allahnana Danjuma, Renkle Moses, Iliya Tsebe, Nchekpu Chero, Friday Ahock, Bitrus Zaria and Philip Wanaso who left behind wives, twenty children and many relations. 

In attendance during the funeral programme were clergymen, family members, kinsmen and other mourners notably a former Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku.
