 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. To ease parking challenges, designated car parks have been arranged for public use, these include; the Yoruba Lawn Tennis Club Car Park, Zone 2 Car Park (opposite Island Club along King George V Road), Museum Kit...

Minister of Power Applauds PMB for the Completion of Zungeru Dam in Niger State.

President Muhammadu Buhari led administration has been applauded for sustaining and completing the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Project in Niger state.

Minister of Power Engineer Abubakar Aliyu said this when together with the Chairman Senate Committee on Power Senator Gabriel Suswan joined Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state on a fact finding mission to the project site.

Engineer Abubakar Aliyu maintained that adding seven hundred megawatt to the National grid is no doubt a huge success which he said the last time a big dam like this was constructed in nineteen sixty.

He however said the work is completed and that all necessary measures are being put in place at the National Council on Privatisation to tidy up the concession deal with Mainstream Energy as as the preferred bidder.

Niger state Governor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello commended President Muhammadu Buhari for completing the project being the fourth in Niger state saying that Nigerlites and beyond will benefit from such gesture.

Alh Abubakar Sani Bello said people of Niger state will no doubt have access to electricity and provide great opportunity to communities around from training job opportunities and lots more.

He however said that they are doing more to secure the project stressing that at ninety nine percent the project is ready for commissioning.

Chairman Senate Committee on Power Senator Gabriel Suswan explained that members of the National Assembly had doubts about the concessioning of the project and did not want Nigerians to be short changed.

He said they have started investigation on the circumstances surrounding the concessioning of the project.
