 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo. Missing Franklyn Chioma-Blessing Found In Port Harcourt. 

Police have rescued a 12-year-old girl, Franklyn Chioma-Blessing, who was declared missing in Port Harcourt this week.

Chioma-Blessing was rescued from a forest in Igboo-Kingdom, Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.

She was reported to have left her house on Thursday for school but never got to the school.

Our correspondent gathered that earlier on Saturday; operatives of the Nigeria Police stormed a forest in Igboo-Etche where the victim was rescued.

It is unclear if Chioma-Blessing was kidnapped for ransom or for other reasons.

The state Police Command has promised to brief journalists on the development.

Igbo-Etche has been touted to be a destination of kidnappers in the state, as several persons kidnapped have been rescued from there.
