 Osinbajo has not left politics ~ Former aide, Akande. Mr Laolu Akande, a former spokesperson to ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, says there is no reason for anyone to assume that Osinbajo has left politics or resigned from the All Progressives Congress, APC. Akande made this statement during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Sunday in Lagos. Recall that Osinbajo has not been active in many political circles since leaving office in 2023, sparking speculations that he may have dumped the APC and politics. The former Vice President contested the APC primary in 2022 but failed to clinch the party’s ticket, losing to President Bola Tinubu. He served as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 under Tinubu’s administration as governor. NIGERIAN, OSIBOGUN ELECTED DEPUTY MAYOR OF BUCKINGHAM IN THE UK.


A Nigerian, Dr. Adekunle Osibogun has been elected as the Deputy Mayor of Buckingham in England, United Kingdom for a period of one year.

The Communications Manager of Omo Oodua Worldwide, Maxwell Adeleye, who made this known in a statement said Dr Osibogun is currently a councillor representing Buckingham South on the Buckingham Town Council.

Osibogun will deputise for the new Town Mayor who was also elected for a period of one year.

His tie to the communty began in 2004 when he arrived in Buckingham for his second undergraduate degree.

As the new Deputy Mayor, Osibogun will assist the Town Mayor with council meetings and promoting community focused initiatives; addressing residents concerns and overseeing the town’s public service departments to ensure they operate effectively.

Osibogun hails from Ijebu-Ode, Ogun-State, South-West, Nigeria and he is a former House of Representatives Candidate for Ijebu Central Federal Constituency during the 2019 general elections in Nigeria.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
