 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. Over 400 Intending Nasarawa Pilgrims Stranded At Abuja Camp

Over 400 hundred intending pilgrims from Nasarawa State are said to be stranded at the FCT Hajj Camp, Abuja. 

The stranded intending pilgrims according to a stakeholder, Mallam Buhari Sani, may miss the 2023 hajj exercise if nothing is done to airlift them before the closure of Saudi Arabia's airspace. 

He said they were earmarked for the 4th flight but were told that the aircraft to ferry them developed technical problems and currently undergoing repairs. 

Sani who berated the management of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board over the situation appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to come to the aid of the affected intending pilgrims. 

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) had allocated 1,567 slots to the State for this year's exercise. 

The first flight ferried over 560 intending pilgrims from the State to Saudi on May 25. Hours later, second and subsequently the 3rd flight took off. 

Meanwhile, the management of the Board assured that efforts are being made to ferry the remaining intending pilgrims and appealed for calm.
