 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. Over 400 Intending Nasarawa Pilgrims Stranded At Abuja Camp

Over 400 hundred intending pilgrims from Nasarawa State are said to be stranded at the FCT Hajj Camp, Abuja. 

The stranded intending pilgrims according to a stakeholder, Mallam Buhari Sani, may miss the 2023 hajj exercise if nothing is done to airlift them before the closure of Saudi Arabia's airspace. 

He said they were earmarked for the 4th flight but were told that the aircraft to ferry them developed technical problems and currently undergoing repairs. 

Sani who berated the management of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board over the situation appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to come to the aid of the affected intending pilgrims. 

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) had allocated 1,567 slots to the State for this year's exercise. 

The first flight ferried over 560 intending pilgrims from the State to Saudi on May 25. Hours later, second and subsequently the 3rd flight took off. 

Meanwhile, the management of the Board assured that efforts are being made to ferry the remaining intending pilgrims and appealed for calm.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
