  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal: Heavy Security At Court Of Appeal


There are heavy security outfits at the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal, ahead of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal sitting scheduled to commence today.


As at 8:33 this morning, the courtroom is yet to be opened as most lawyers, media practitioners wait outside the court.


Although the court is expected to sit at 10am, which has always been a tradition in cases like this.


According to the list released by the registry,  the first petition to be heard is that of the Action Alliance and it's candidate Solomon Okanigbuan, followed by that of Action People's Party, then that of Peter Obi and Labour Party, then that of the Allied Peoples Movement and lastly that of Atiku Abubakar and PDP.


All parties are challenging the outcome of the February 25, 2023 Presidential Elections that produced Bola Tinubu as the President-Elect.
