 SPORTS INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT: LAGOS UNVEILS ZEN ARCHERY ARENA As part of  Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's commitment to promoting inclusion, the Lagos State Sports Commission, in collaboration with Zen Archery recently unveiled the Lagos Zen Archery Arena at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere. Speaking at the unveiling, the Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, said the Lagos Zen Archery Arena is a testament to the present administration’s commitment to advancing, supporting, and promoting mass participation in sports. He said "This facility provides opportunities for different categories of archers to have a befitting space to practice and develop their talents in archery. This attests to possibilities in sports development and to give diversity and inclusivity in sports not just in Lagos but in Nigeria at large". Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal: Heavy Security At Court Of Appeal


There are heavy security outfits at the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal, ahead of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal sitting scheduled to commence today.


As at 8:33 this morning, the courtroom is yet to be opened as most lawyers, media practitioners wait outside the court.


Although the court is expected to sit at 10am, which has always been a tradition in cases like this.


According to the list released by the registry,  the first petition to be heard is that of the Action Alliance and it's candidate Solomon Okanigbuan, followed by that of Action People's Party, then that of Peter Obi and Labour Party, then that of the Allied Peoples Movement and lastly that of Atiku Abubakar and PDP.


All parties are challenging the outcome of the February 25, 2023 Presidential Elections that produced Bola Tinubu as the President-Elect.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
