 Texas man arrested with 75 pounds of marijuana in luggage while flying to London, police say A Texas man was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities found 75 pounds of marijuana in his luggage before he could board a flight to London. Harrison O’Neill Tiernan, 23, from Austin, was charged with cannabis trafficking. He was traveling to Heathrow Airport and had checked two suitcases for his British Airways flight. Inspectors discovered 65 vacuum-sealed packages containing a green, leafy substance later confirmed to be marijuana. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Tiernan while he attempted to board the flight, and he acknowledged that the bags were his. Authorities noted the inspections were part of broader efforts at the airport due to high outbound narcotics activity. In total, Tiernan was carrying 34.01 kilograms, or 74.98 pounds, of marijuana. Protest in Enugu over assassination of ex-Gov aspirant, missing monarch

Protests have erupted in the Enugu metropolis over the alleged killing of a former governorship aspirant in the just-concluded general elections and a community leader in Ozalla community in Nkanu West Local Government Area, Engr. Dons Udeh.

The community also protested the continuous missing of its traditional ruler, Igwe Donald Nwochi, who was last seen on December 24, 2021 as well as others who left their homes and never returned.

The Nation reports that Udeh went missing on Saturday, April 22 in Enugu and his decomposing body found in a bush at 9th Mile Bypass in Udi Local Government Area, on April 25 around 11:00 a.m.

Angered by the continuous murders and inexplicable abductions in the community, residents took to the streets of Enugu to protest what they described as the rising abductions and unabated murder of innocent people in the community in more than one year now.

Led by the town union president, Chief Charles Nwagbara, village heads, women and youths, the protesters marched through the city centre to the Government House, carrying palm fronds and placards with various inscriptions.

Nwagbara said: “The incident we are protesting about happened penultimate Saturday, which we all took as that of a missing person. We thought that he would come out as we went into prayers. Little did we know that the devil and the bad people in our society had taken his life.

“We are not saying that we are suspecting anybody. But it has happened to us one time and too many times.

“You will recall that on December 24, 2021, Igwe Dons Nwochi was kidnapped and up till today he has not returned.

“Now again, Chief Engr. Dons Udeh was abducted and his phone was found within Enugu here and we were informed that his corpse was found at 9th Mile.

“We the Ozalla people are aggrieved. We are demanding for justice. We have decided to match to the government house to have a conversation with the governor over these abductions.

“The gap Udeh’s death has left in our community will be too huge to fill by anyone else”.

Asked if the community has any clue on the incidents, Nwagbara, who doubles as the chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association(NBA) in Enugu said: “There are no clues yet for the perpetrators of this crime. No arrest has been made. That’s why we’re protesting.

“Apart from Igwe Donald Nwochi, there are some other such incidents like that and we are worried as a community.

“We are also demanding that the perpetrators of these heinous acts be brought to justice.

“I want to thank the people of Ozalla who had thronged out here. It is Dons today,.who knows whose turn it could be tomorrow?”.
