 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. PTC To Unveil Programme For Presidential Inauguration

The Presidential Transition Council, PTC, is to unveil the approved programme of events for the Presidential Inauguration at a World Press Conference on Thursday, 18th May 2023. 

In a statement, the Chairman and secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha said the Inauguration Committee of the PTC had reached advanced stages in its preparation for the peaceful and orderly transfer of power on May 29, 2023.

He said various approved events would hold from the week commencing Monday 22nd May 2023.  

Boss Mustapha also disowned the fake programme of events for the Presidential Inauguration currently in circulation on the social media. 

The Chairman cautioned purveyors of fake news to desist forthwith from peddling falsehood in an attempt to mislead members of the unsuspecting public.
