 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways. Scores Injured As Fulani Herdsmen, Farmers Clash In Duduguru

A clash in Duduguru community, Obi Local Government Area between local farmers and marauding fulani herdsmen has left many injured in both sides. 


The fulani herdsmen had invaded the community with their cattle and destroyed farms which led to the faceoff with owners on Thursday May 18. 


The local farmers lamented that fulani herdsmen had resorted to grazing their cattle on their farms and destroying their means of livelihood.
