 GOVERNMENT OF RIVERS STATE   PRESS STATEMENT  MY DECISION TO WITHDRAW FROM THE RIVERS  STATE  GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARIES  Fellow Rivers People, After deep reflection and extensive consultations with my family, friends, and associates, I have taken the difficult but necessary decision to withdraw from the APC gubernatorial primaries. I do so with a full heart and with a firm commitment to support whoever emerges as the candidate of our great party. Leadership is ultimately about sacrifice. There comes a time when personal ambition must yield to the greater good of the people. Rivers State is bigger than any individual, and at this critical moment, the peace, stability, and unity of our dear state must take precedence over every personal interest. Security Guard Convicted for Stealing Forfeited Property in Kaduna

Justice A.A Bello of the Kaduna State High Court sitting in Kaduna, has convicted and sentenced one Abdul_Bari Yakubu to two years imprisonment on one count charge bordering on dealing in forfeited property.

The defendant, a former personnel of Kaduna State Vigilance Service, KADVS, was arrested by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on March 13, 2023 after he alleged stole a 34" Samsung Television set from Halal Fountain Hotel Annex, a property under interim forfeiture.
 
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him.

Justice Bello convicted and sentenced him to two years imprisonment or a fine of N160,000.00.
