  An Indian parliamentary panel has called on Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg to apologise for the temporary removal of July 23 video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.   Modi’s video, addressing students during youth-led protests on July 23, was briefly removed from Meta-owned Facebook and Instagram, but was later restored.   The panel, led by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, said the deletion of PM Modi's video - who is the representative of 1.4 billion Indians - is an "attack on democracy".   "If Facebook does not take action against those responsible in this matter, the Safe Harbour Clause will be removed. Mark Zuckerberg will have to apologize. Otherwise, a case may be filed," it said.   The removal of the safe harbour clause gives the green light to file FIRs directly against social media platform officials. Sokoto Assembly Pass Bill To Regulate Extravagant Marriage Expenses

The Sokoto State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed a Bill to regulate marriage expenses in the state.

The Bill, sponsored by Alhaji Abubakar Shehu (APC-Yabo) and Faruk Balle (PDP- Gudu), was earlier referred to the House Committee on Religious Affairs.

Shehu, who is the chairman of the committee, presented the report of the committee at plenary, which was unanimously adopted and passed into law.

The Bill seeks to control extravagant spending on marriage, naming, circumcision and other local ceremonies across the state.

Shehu said, while tabling the report, the committee met with necessary stakeholders who made positive contributions which were captured in the Bill.

After deliberations at the plenary presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Alhaji Abubakar Magaji, the Bill was unanimously passed by the lawmakers.
