 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways. Today, I will enter into a new social contract with Ndi Abia. While I pledge to use every attribute that God has given me to serve you, I would also demand from you some sacrifice.

Gov. Otti Announces Launch of N10 billion MSME Fund To Tackle Unemployment in Abia State

Mr Otti said a minimum of 20,000 MSMEs would benefit from this fund over the next two years and generate at least 100,000 direct and 200,000 indirect jobs.

The new governor of Abia, Alex Otti, says his administration will within the next one month, launch a N10 billion Micro, Small and Medium scale Enterprises (MSME) financing scheme in the state.

He made this known during his inaugural speech as the fifth executive governor of Abia at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
