 Beloved actor Ras Ajai, 47, 'shot dead' while walking down a street A beloved film star and musician has di£d. Ras Ajai, whose real name was Brian Todd Boucher, played JLP political enforcer Claudie Massop in the 2024 film Bob Marley: One Love biopic. He was reportedly shot in Waterford, St. Catherine, Jamaica, at the age of 47. He rubbed shoulders with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they arrived at the movie's Jamaican premiere. Another person is reported to have sustained injuries during the assault, which remains under investigation by St Catherine South Police. Sources say the reggae and dancehall artist, vocalist and composer was walking down a street with a companion on Saturday, August 1, when they were attacked by armed criminals travelling in a vehicle. One of the attackers allegedly exited the car and unleashed gunfire on the duo and Ras was shot several times before they fled in the motor. Veteran pop star CHRIS MBA has passed on. 

He has been down for a while with heart desease and finally gave up the fight yesterday at LUTH
Signed to Premier Records, the singer was popular in the 80s for his signature jerry curl and hits like 
‘Funky Situation’, 
‘Baby Don’t Cry’, 
‘Making my Way’ and 
‘Love Everlasting’.

He also performed at an evening of tributes organised for the late Ras Kimono by the Copyright Society of Nigeria in August 2018.
