 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail.  Zamfara Workers Organise Special Prayers Over Non-Payment Of Salaries

Some civil servants in Zamfara State observed special prayers at the Eid mosque in Gusau, the state capital, on Saturday. 

Daily Trust reports that the workers who converged on the mosque around 10 a.m. sought divine intercession over their salaries.

The workers said they were last paid in January and were finding it difficult to meet up with their demands.

“Many of us have been pushing to be beggars, unable to eat one square meal a day. So, this prayer session is specially meant to commit our dear governor, Head of Service, members of the House of Assembly and all those concerned, for God to enable them to have compassion on us.

“We have suffered enough on account of this struggle, many lost their lives too and we want it no more. We have gathered in unison devoid of religious affiliations to sincerely seek God’s intervention for all,” one of them who craved anonymity said.
