 PRESS RELEASE MINISTER OF INFORMATION LEADS HEADS OF AGENCIES TO BROADCASTERS CONFERENCE IN LAS VEGAS In an effort to strengthen broadcast collaborations and form strategic alliances, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris fnipr, has led a delegation of heads of government agencies to the 2025 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference and Workshop in Las Vegas, USA. The NAB event, running from April 5 to 9, carries the theme “The Technology, The Trend, The Future” and will cover a range of topics, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud visualization, the creator economy, and sports production and streaming. Buhari, Tinubu Meet In London

June 27, 2023

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has met with his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, in London, United Kingdom.

The outcome of the meeting between the duo is not yet known as the details of their discussions were not made public.

However, some presidential aides released pictures of the meeting on social media.

Tinubu had departed Nigeria on June 20 to participate in the two-day New Global Financial Pact Summit, held in Paris, France.

That was his first official trip since he took over from Buhari on May 29, 2023.

The president was scheduled to return on Saturday, June 24, however, Mr. Dele Alake, the presidential spokesman in a statement explained that his principal would proceed to London, for a short private visit.

Mr. Tinubu is back to currently as the presidential jet touched down at Lagos where the president is expected to join the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
