 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence.  Customs Confiscates Cannabis Sativa, Others Worth Over N64m in Kebbi, Hands Over to NDLEA


In line with the effort to eradicate the menace of drug abuse in Nigeria, the Customs Area Controller in charge of Kebbi Area Command, Comptroller Ben Oramalugo handed over seized 104 parcels of cannabis sativa, 359 sacks of diazepam and 70 Packs of Tramadol to the Kebbi State Commander of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Sule Usman.


Comptroller Oramalugo while addressing newsmen on Friday in Kebbi state stated that the illicit goods (104 Parcels of cannabis sativa and 5mg of 99 Diazepam tablets) were intercepted along the Kamba-Kyangakwai border.


According to him, after receiving an intelligence report, his men swung into action to launch a ‘stop and search’ operation within the border.


“It was during this process, my men found a white vehicle carrying 104 parcels of cannabis sativa concealed in a laptop, 99 5mg packs of Diazepam and over 70 packs of 22mg of tramadol with duty paid value of over N64,613,594,” Comptroller Oramalugo stated.


According to Comptroller Oramalugo, other seizures made by the Command include: one used Honda Accord 2014, one used Opel, 107 bags of 50 kilograms of foreign par-boiled rice, 38 bales of used clothing, 1,275 litres of PMS and 52 Jerry Cans of Vegetable oil.


He also stated that the operation has also resulted in the arrest of one Suleiman Yusuf alias Babangida in connection with the seizure of cannabis sativa in Kamba, Rijiyar Maikafi.


While taking over the seized hard drugs, the Kebbi State Commander of the NDLEA, Sule Usman, commended the Nigeria Customs Service for its efforts in combating the smuggling of unwanted goods into the country.


He also urged parents and guardians to imbibe the culture of early drug addiction detection by consulting them when they notice strange attitudes from their children.
