 There was no evidence that he slept with the girl” – Yomi Fabiyi gives update on Baba Ijesha’s case Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has given an update on embattled Yoruba actor Baba Ijesha’s case. Refreshing your memory, Baba Ijesha was arrested and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for raping a minor, who is the adopted daughter of comedian Princess. Giving an update on the case in a recent interview, he said Baba Ijesha’s appeal process is still ongoing in court. He claimed that there was no evidence that he slept with the hole; hence, the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment. Yomi stated that Princess called Baba Ijesha to shoot a skit, and the girl also made a similar statement in court. Governor Fintiri Commissions 455 Housing Units For IDPs At Labondo

Governor Ahmadu Umaru  Fintiri has commissioned 454 houses meant for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Adamawa state at Labondo I Girie local government area.

The project under the programme Labondo Local Integration Project was championed by United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) among others. 

Speaking at the event, Governor Umaru Fintiri commended the development partners for providing the houses which was described as qualitative.

He urges the two thousand and seven hundred beneficiaries of the houses and other interventions to cultivate good maintenance culture of the project for sustainability.

The Governor expressed delight that the project focuses on community empowerment, sustainable housing, livelihood support, social cohesion and socio-economic development.

Chansa Kapaya, UNHCR Country Representative, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for providing overall leadership towards executing the project.

Various speakers at the event commended the development partners for executing the initiative and urged the beneficiaries to take full ownership of the project.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
