 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment. Governor Fintiri Commissions 455 Housing Units For IDPs At Labondo

Governor Ahmadu Umaru  Fintiri has commissioned 454 houses meant for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Adamawa state at Labondo I Girie local government area.

The project under the programme Labondo Local Integration Project was championed by United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) among others. 

Speaking at the event, Governor Umaru Fintiri commended the development partners for providing the houses which was described as qualitative.

He urges the two thousand and seven hundred beneficiaries of the houses and other interventions to cultivate good maintenance culture of the project for sustainability.

The Governor expressed delight that the project focuses on community empowerment, sustainable housing, livelihood support, social cohesion and socio-economic development.

Chansa Kapaya, UNHCR Country Representative, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for providing overall leadership towards executing the project.

Various speakers at the event commended the development partners for executing the initiative and urged the beneficiaries to take full ownership of the project.
