 CURBING OPEN DEFECATION: LASG, WATERAID, PRIVATE SECTOR COLLABORATE TO BUILD 350 PUBLIC TOILETS IN LAGOS  The Lagos State Government, in collaboration with WaterAid Plan and private operators, is set to build 350 more public toilets across the state to curb widespread open defecation and maintain hygiene and sanitation.  This is just as the State WaterAid team lead gave a projection that by 2028, the organisation will reach 10 million residents directly and another 17 million indirectly through interventions with basic Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) access. Speaking at a roundtable over the weekend, the Special Adviser on Environment, Engr. Olakunle Rotimi-Akodu said work has started on some of the toilets including identifying the locations for them. “He was only looking for daily bread” — Adeniyi Johnson begs Nigeria Police to release Trinity Guy


Renowned actor, Adeniyi Johnson appeals for mercy on behalf a popular skit maker called Trinity Guy, who is currently remanded in prison.


As previously reported, the content creator, based in Ibadan, was summoned by the police last week. He has been taken to court on the charges of allegedly portraying inappropriate content involving a minor in a viral skit video.


The Oyo State Magistrate Court ordered the skit maker to be held in Agodi prison for the alleged sexual exploitation of a 10-year-old child.


The parents of the minor were also detained on charges of conspiracy and sexual abuse.


In response to these developments, Adeniyi Johnson appealed to the Nigeria Police to show leniency in Trinity Guy’s case. He emphasized that the skit maker is simply seeking a means of livelihood.


In his words,


“Dear Nigeria police force and every other related agency. Many of us agree that our brother did what is wrong and absurd.


“All I’m pleading for is to TAMPER JUSTICE WITH MERCY. please @iamtrinityguy is a young man looking for what to eat legally but he incidentally fell on the wrong side of the law.


“Please be merciful as I know he has learnt already Nigerian Police Force Recruitment Forum.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
