 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. I Can’t Drive Car Despite Driving Trucks – 22-Year-Old Female Truck Driver

Ademola Omolade, a 22-year-old truck driver from Ogbomosho, Oyo State, born in Osun State, has said that she cannot drive a car despite driving trucks.

Stating how she began to drive trucks, the young lady noted that her parents started pestering her to learn a trade after her secondary school education.

According to her, they wanted her to learn tailoring or hairdressing, but she had no interest in any of those.

At the time, she was living with her aunt in Lagos State, whose husband was a truck driver.

So when her uncle was given two trucks to manage, he asked her if she could be managing the trucks for him and she agreed.

During her course of managing the trucks for her uncle, she developed an interest in driving trucks and that was how she started her journey to becoming a truck driver.
