 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. I Could Have Slapped Kwankwaso At Aso Rock – Ganduje


Former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has said that he could have slapped his predecessor, Musa Kwankwaso if he had met him at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.


Ganduje said this while addressing State House reporters after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Friday.


He accused Kwankwaso of masterminding the demolition in the state, adding that the demolitions in Kano were executed without due process and, therefore, breached the law.


Some structures demolished include Haji camp, Daula Hotel, and shopping complexes around the Eid Prayer Ground in the state. 


Kwankwaso lost the presidential election on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, although the party’s candidate, Abba Yusuf, won the Kano State Governorship election.


However, both men were in the Villa at the same period to see the president. 


When asked about the President’s response and if they had reconciled inside the Villa, Ganduje said, “I know he is in the building but we have not met. Probably if we met, maybe I could have slapped him.”
