 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. It will be great privilege – Ighalo gives conditions to return to Nigeria Premier League


Odion Ighalo says he would be interested to play in the Nigeria Premier League again.


Ighalo is a free agent after leaving Saudi Arabia’s Professional League club, Al Hilal, last month.


The 34-year-old played for local clubs Prime FC and Julius Berger before starting his professional career in Europe in 2007.


“I said if security is guaranteed, good coverage is assured and better officiating. Of course, [I will play],” the forward told Elegbete TV.


“I have played in the league before, and it will be a great privilege for me to play again for another six months or one year before I end my career.”


It would be recalled that Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa featured briefly for Kano Pillars in 2021 after severing ties with Saudi club, Al Nassr.
