 Group demands declaration of Aba North Assembly seat vacant, threatens protest A group known as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youth Groups has mandated the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emereuwa to declare the Aba North seat vacant in seven days. The Aba North seat has been a subject of controversy since November 27, 2023, when the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos sacked Destiny Nwagwu of LP and declared Aaron Uzodike of the PDP, the duly elected member to represent Aba North. However, the seat has remained unoccupied since November 2023, as Uzodike of PDP has not been inaugurated by the Speaker, despite his several appeals. A fresh controversy erupted Friday, as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youths Groups, asked the Speaker to declare the seat vacant within seven days or expect a city-wide protest in Aba. LASG ANNOUNCES TRAFFIC DIVERSION ON LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY AS CONSTRUCTION REACHES FINAL STAGE


… Appeals for Understanding, Cooperation of Motorists


In line with the Federal Government announcement of traffic diversion on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as the construction works on the corridor reach its concluding stage, the Lagos State Government has highlighted alternative routes available for the motoring public.


According to the diversion plan as announced by the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the traffic diversion slated for tomorrow, Saturday. 24th June, 2023 will have the following alternative routes open for commuters.

The exit from the New Garage bus stop on Lagos bound carriageway enroute River Valley Estate, Isheri and Ogunusi Road will be closed to traffic, all traffic from Kara Bridge on Lagos bound carriageway heading to River Valley Estate, Isheri and Ogunusi Road will be diverted to the exit immediately after Kara Bridge through Limson Road to connect their respective destinations.   


Alternatively, Motorists can also make use of the U-turn by the Vehicle Inspection Services (VIS) and the Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC) Office at Ojodu to connect the expressway through the Lagos State Public Works Office/BRT bus stop.
The Lagos State Government urged Motorists to obey traffic signs and the directives of the Traffic Management Authorities Personnel to ensure seamless movement within the corridor.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
