 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. NIGERIA UNDER-20 WOMEN FOOTBALL TEAM TO FACE BURUNDI IN THE SECOND ROUND OF THE 2024 FIFA UNDER-20 WOMEN'S WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS.(PHOTO).

Nigeria’s national under-20 women’s football team have been drawn to face Burundi in the second round of the 2024 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

 

The draw was officially conducted by the Confederation of African Football in Cairo, Egypt.

 

Equatorial Guinea will face Libya, Togo will take on Guinea Bissau, and Mauritius will face off against Chad.

 

The winners from this round will then move on to the second round of the qualifiers.

 

In this round, Ethiopia will take on the winners of the Equatorial Guinea and Libya pairing, while Senegal will face off with Mali.

Nigeria, the semi-finalists at the last edition of competition, will face Burundi while Ghana awaits the winners of the clash between Togo and Guinea Bissau.

 

The matches will take place between September 1 and September 10. While second qualifying round of matches will take place between Oct. 6 and Oct. 15, with the winners heading to the third round of qualifiers scheduled for Nov. 12 to Nov. 19.
