 Group demands declaration of Aba North Assembly seat vacant, threatens protest A group known as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youth Groups has mandated the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emereuwa to declare the Aba North seat vacant in seven days. The Aba North seat has been a subject of controversy since November 27, 2023, when the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos sacked Destiny Nwagwu of LP and declared Aaron Uzodike of the PDP, the duly elected member to represent Aba North. However, the seat has remained unoccupied since November 2023, as Uzodike of PDP has not been inaugurated by the Speaker, despite his several appeals. A fresh controversy erupted Friday, as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youths Groups, asked the Speaker to declare the seat vacant within seven days or expect a city-wide protest in Aba. Pastor Adeboye receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has received the Global Impact Lifetime Achievement Award.

In his vote of thanks, the 81-year-old cleric acknowledged the team of pastors and volunteers that have selflessly worked with him.

His words, “I humbly accept the Global Impact Lifetime Achievement Award at Everyone 23 Amsterdam. I’m grateful for this recognition of my service to God and humanity. I thank Brother Bil Wilson, Empower 21, and Oral Roberts University for this prestigious honor.

“I give all glory to God, who has been my strength and inspiration. Without His grace, none of my accomplishments would have been possible.

He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
