 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service. Police officer arrested for attempting to kill his colleague in Adamawa


The police in Kaduna state has arrested an officer, Inspector Moses Paul, for attempting to strangle his colleague, Inspector Simnawa Paul, while they were both on duty at the Police Mobile Force base of 62 Squadron Kafanchan on June 16.


The police in a statement released yesterday June 26, said Inspector Moses Paul tried to strangle, using a rope, the neck of his unsuspecting colleague. The statement said the ''victim was however rescued by two other Police Officers whose attention were drawn by his cries.''


The police added that preliminary inquiries reveals the primary motive was in attempt to cart away Inspector Simnawa Paul's rifle while the the remote cause of action will be ascertained at the end of the full scale investigation during which the culprit will be facing both disciplinary and legal proceedings.
