 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Wadada Resigns From PAN Nigeria Ahead Of 10th NASS Inauguration

The Senator-Elect for Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has resigned his appointment as the Chairman, Board of Directors of the Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) Nigeria Limited. 

This is contained in a letter addressed to the Board of Directors of the company through the acting Managing Director of PAN and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.

Wadada thanked the board, management and staff of the company for their support and cooperation during his tenure.

“Sequel to my emergence as senator-elect to represent the people of Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Nasarawa State at the just concluded 2023 General Elections.

“I write to inform you of my resignation as Chairman, Board of Directors, effective immediately.

“This decision is borne out of my desire to effectively concentrate on providing purposeful representation to my people upon the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly on June 13.

“I appreciate the opportunities for growth and development you have all provided to the company during my tenure and have enjoyed steering the affairs of this famous company.”
