 Prince Harry leaves African Parks board after charity admitted rangers committed human rights abuses Prince Harry has left the board of African Parks after nearly a decade with the conservation charity, a year after the organization acknowledged that some of its rangers had committed human rights abuses. A spokesperson for Harry, 41, confirmed his departure while emphasizing that his work in African conservation will continue. “The Duke is proud of his 10 years with African Parks and fully supports the ongoing strengthening of its Board,” the spokesperson said. “His commitment to conservation in Africa continues, and he remains a supporter of African Parks’ mission.” Harry first partnered with African Parks in 2016 and became president of the organization the following year. Anambra Police Commissioner Goes on Patrol; Pays Surprise Visit to Formations in Nnewi.

Police Commissioner in Anambra State, CP Aderemi Adeoye yesterday, Friday 28th July, 2023 led a formidable Patrol of Police Mobile Force and Police Counter Terrorist Unit on Patrol of the State. 

Patrol covered Enugwu Ukwu, Abagana, Eziowelle, Ojoto, Oba, Ichi, Nnewi, Ichida, Igbo Ukwu, Ekwulobia, Nanka, Agulu and Nise before terminating in Awka the State Capital.

In Nnewi the Commissioner paid surprise visits to Area Command Headquarters, CPS Nnewi and Otolo Divisional Headquarters. Despite the odd hour, the Commissioner was impressed that he met the Area Commander and both DPOs at their duty posts and in full uniform.

He commended their dedication to duty and urged them to maintain such high standards.

During the visit the Commissioner visited the cells in all the Formations and was pleased to observe that only few suspects were in detention and none had overstayed.

He asked other Commanders and DPOs to emulate these officers even as he vowed that violation of human rights would not be tolerated under his watch.
